COMPANY OVERVIEW

Korea Bio Plant successfully built the first Korean plant for production of sterile instant steamed rice
and we are in the process of a happy challenge.

Greetings!
This is Kyung-Woon Oh, CEO of Korea Bio Plant Co., Ltd..

Korea Bio Plant, founded in 2011, is a company equipped with cutting-edge technology and great industrial growth potential, as clearly demonstrated when we succeeded in building the first Korean plant for production of sterile instant steamed rice.
To present the world-cleanest steamed rice retaining its natural flavor, we produce completely sterile instant rice cooked with high-temperature and high-pressure using deep ocean water from Goseong, Gangwon-do, Korea. In addition, we have consistently invested in R&D to satisfy the consumer tastes and are able to develop various functional steamed rice products such as brown rice, blood-sugar reducing (hypoglycemic) rice, five-grain rice as well as regular white rice.
As of 2014 and now, we have established partnerships with many top Korean companies like Lotte mart, E-mart and Home plus, and now we are aiming for conquering the global market through export of the plant and technology transfer to foreign country. In addition to the instant steamed rice, we also expect to produce eco-friendly organic products made from rice water, which include bio-fertilizer with live bacteria and cosmetic ingredient.
We would like to express a profound gratitude toward all our customers who have given us constant encouragement and support, and we promise that all the employees of our company will work together to grow to be a global corporation of Combined Cycle Rice plant with an effort to maximize the value added to the rice.
Thank you.

BUSINESS INTRODUCTION

PLANT OPERATION

Introduction of the Combined Cycle Rice Plant, our key business operation using deep ocean water.

Combined Cycle Rice Plant is a multi rice processing plant. We utilize deep ocean water, which is known to be the safest water in the world, to separate/extract the rice constituents in accordance with each purpose and build differentiated portfolios of functional products through bio and food processing operations.
Therefore, conceptually this plant business helps cultivate both local agricultural industry and the front and back industry utilizing deep ocean water, which results in maximizing the value added to rice.

FOOD PROCESSING BUSINESS

We produce more flavorful steamed rice using the same principle applied for a pressure cooker with high temperature/high pressure and we use the deep ocean water from Goseong, Gangwon-do, Korea.

Our world’s highest-quality instant steamed rice is produced by a wet non-abrasive washing technique for the first time in Korea, in which only deep ocean water is used in every step from washing to moisture supply to rice.
Our instant steamed rice retains the delicious flavor derived from the rice cooker, so we can taste the same delicate flavor of the steamed rice as if it was cooked by mom.

THE MYSTERIOUS DEEP OCEAN WATER FROM THE SEA

The mysterious deep ocean water exists only in the deep sea where the depth of water is below 200 meters, too deep for sunlight to reach there. It retains several minerals essential to our body such as magnesium, calcium and potassium.

Korea Bio Plant use the deep ocean water extracted from 605 meters-deep in the sea nearby Goseong, Gangwon-do, Korea, a location with the best geological and geographical condition among other deep ocean water intake locations in the East sea of Korea.

According to the issued by Korean Food and Drug Administration, there are 40 harmful ingredients to be maintained less than certain standard concentration, but 25 ingredients out of those 40 are not detected in the deep ocean water at all, and the rest are detected only to the negligible level, way below the standard concentration. It is safe to drink it, since we produced it through the latest water filtration system (reverse osmosis water filtration system). It is more secured to drink without worry particularly in the event of changing climate environment (drought, flood, etc.)

BIO BUSINESS

We are leading the eco-friendly bio business using highly concentrated, cultured and fermented rice water.

Fermented rice water, made with a highly concentrated culture of some 80 microbial species grown in fresh, quality rice water, is light yellow-colored liquid form of microbial material, thus an eco-friendly product. It can be used for microbe-depleted soil, nutrition-rich compost material and rotting livestock pens to restore them back to the natural and ecological environment by replenishing any places quickly with beneficial microbes with an easy step of fermented rice water inoculation.

When fermented rice water is used as a multi-functional microbial material, owing to the various physiological active substances released by microbes while they grow and the nutritious substances degraded or ionized by them, it has many beneficial effects on the farm animals and plants. In particular, it is effective in disease prevention in that the beneficial bacteria in the rice water gain a competitive edge against the pathogenic bacteria.

TECHNOLOGY INTRODUCTION

WET NON-ABRASIVE RICE WASHING TECHNIQUE

We succeeded in keeping both taste and nutrition by wet non-abrasive washing technique, with which rice still retains its freshness.

The advantages of this technique include not only low-cost equipment installation developed and created domestically through research and technology of the Korea Food Research Institution, but also the enhanced flavor and the amount of the steamed rice due to the increased ratio of completely intact rice by sifting out the fragmented rice such as broken rice, chaff and damaged rice.

ADVANTAGE OF WET NON-ABRASIVE RICE WASHING TECHNIQUE

eng_semi_01
As soon as rice contacts with water, it absorbs water and its surface become fragile. Then, if you wash rice by scrubbing, the surface of rice gets damaged and cracked resulting in less glossy steamed rice with reduced delicate texture.

eng_semi_02
Conventional rice washing technique is not technically sufficient to remove residual aleurone layer from the surface of rice, causing off-taste and off-flavor.
Wet non-abrasive rice washing technique can remove the residual aleurone layer completely and enhance the flavor of steamed rice.

eng_semi_03
Steamed rice washed with the wet non-abrasive rice washing technique shows much superior quality in glossiness and whiteness.

eng_semi_04
The ratio of completely intact rice in regular rice is 83~85% and the remaining part is filled with damaged rice and chaff, which in fact lower the overall taste of steamed rice.

INSTANT RICE PRODUCTION TECHNOLOGY

Introduction of sterile instant steamed rice production technology developed by ourselves.

We have succeed in developing equipment with our own technology and beginning home production of otherwise very expensive foreign equipment, completed a test for mass production, and currently we are in charge of the whole level engineering responsibilities covering from designing the Combined Cycle Rice Plant to installing equipment to produce sterile instant steamed rice.
